Going Around and Coming Around

Today was a banner day in that I had the pleasure of performing the marriage ceremony for a long ago former student, meeting many other former students among her wedding guests and discovering that two MORE people with whom I work are former students! That's pretty exciting for me and makes my "work" all the more enjoyable.

I can't fail to note that the talented and drop dead gorgeous pianist with whom I often work and with whom I had the exquisite pleasure of working today is also a former student!

To top all that off the day was warm and sunny with brilliant clear skies that gave every hope of Spring's coming.

All of those "exciting" things (and the d/d gorgeous pianist's inquiry into my blog status) have given me a kick in the butt to get this going again.

Way, way back in 2000 - that IS a way, way back! - I was blogging and pretty regular about it. In 2002 we moved to Toyota and by then I I was posting daily and had readers around the world. I wrote then about life in Japan and the way it was for me - bitter and sweet.

When I moved back to Hawaii I was much too busy, and the internet connection much too poor to continue. I broke the habit. On returning I made a feeble attempt to restart the flow of creative juice but the flow of other juices were an impediment - and I was busy working, etc., etc., etc.

Well, now I'm busy - I'll be working 7 days a week next year - but those days are really only half days and I've got stuff to say!

Back in the early blog days I was hesitant about my love affair with Japan. Now I'm not, and I think I can write about that.
